reallymaria: Maria Bibbs is in her first year working as an Assistant Professor of Liberal Studies at the Memphis College of Art. She is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Department of English, where she earned her doctorate in 2011. Before earning her Ph.D., Maris finished her master's in Afro-American Studies at UW-Madison and earned a B.A. in English at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Additionally, Maria has published writing in the field of African American studies and has published numerous articles for the Memphis Commercial Appeal. She is originally from Memphis, Tennessee.
